Situated in central Massachusetts,
Worcester is the third largest city in the state. Worcester is a respected center
for medical research and education, boasting the Massachusetts
Biotechnology Research Park and nine universities and colleges—including the
University
of Massachusetts' medical center. While in Worcester, be sure to explore some
of the many sights, including the Higgins
Armory Museum, which displays over 70 antiquated suits of armor. Mechanics
Hall is considered to be among the greatest concert halls in the world, featuring
live jazz, classical and contemporary pop to satisfy every taste. Visit one of
the last remaining 18th-century buildings in Worcester, the Salisbury
Mansion. It is one of the most recognized historical buildings in New England
and has been restored to recreate the lives of the Salisbury family, circa 1830.
For musical and sporting events, visit the DCU Center, home of the Worcester
Sharks.
